New Museum in New York City
While in New York City we had the opportunity to visit the New Museum. The New Museum is the only museum with the mission to promote new art and new ideas, and the only museum in New York City devoted exclusively to contemporary art.
It is an experimentation ground for art in the 21st century and this is clearly apparent with the art that is displayed in the three galleries. The seven story building features a theatre on the lower level, a store and gallery on the ground floor, Floors 2, 3, and 4 are the heart of the museum and feature galleries, a fifth-floor education centre and the seventh-floor Sky Room with a Panoramic view. The building itself is the perfect metaphor for the evolving nature of contemporary art. Well worth the visit!
